Thornton Leads East Past West In All-Star Game
                 
            SCOTT CITY, TC --  In front of the hometown crowd, Scott City Grrrowl Captain scored four goals at the Great Eastern Forum, leading the Eastern Division All-Stars past the Western Division All-Stars by a score of 12-3.  It was sweet redemtion for the East after losing 10-9 in a shoot-out in last years All-Star Game in Adamville, FL.   Thornton also picked up the All-Star Game MVP winning a 2008 Cadillac Escalade.  Also coming up big for the Eastern Division were Fort Macfie Gangbang defencemen Scott Niedermayer and RumpyVIll Roughhosers centre Joe Sakic, they both had a goal and three assists.  Scott City Grrrowl goaltender Mikka Kiprusoff was the only goaltender to not allow a goal in the game, he played the first period and stopped all eight shots he faced.  Leading the way for the West were two Dionland Twisters; Martin Straka had a goal and an assist and Sydney Crosby had two helpers.

2nd Annual SHL All-Star Game

                          SCOTT CITY TC --Scott CIty is gearing up to host The 2nd Annual SHL All-Star Game which will be played tommorow night at the Great Eastern Forum. Tickets were soldout 20 minutes after they were put on sale on Ticketmaster back in October.  The Eastern Division All-Stars look to avenge last years 10-9 shoot-out loss to the Western Division All-Stars at last years game which was the First ever SHL All-Star Game that was held at the A&W Omniplex in Adamville,FL.

     Grrrowl that will be playing in the game are captain Joe Thornton, Grrrowl leading scorer Marian Hossa, and  starting goaltender Mikka Kiprusoff, congratulation fella's for making the Eastern Division All-Star team and Good Luck in the game.


Grrrowl defeat Twisters
winning streak continues


SCOTT CITY, TC -- The Grrrowl winning ways continued as they rolled into the Gatorade Center to face the Twisters.

Marian Hossa scored two goals in the first period giving the Grrrowl a 2-0 lead.

In the second period Nils Ekman and Chris Kunitz scored early on to give the Grrrowl an early 4-0 score.

The Grrrowl however let two goals slip in the 3rd period but ended up holding on to a 4-0 victory.

The win continues the Grrrowls winning streak making it five straight victories.

Grrrowl maul Falcons and continue winning streak

SCOTT CITY, TC --  David Vyborny, Danuis Zubrus, Ray Whitney, and Marian Hossa scored respectively for the Grrrowl as they downed the Falcons at the Great Eastern Forum.

The Falcons sit at the bottom of the league standings as the Grrrowl continue to march toward top spot in the SHL.

Pascal Leclaire was in net for the Grrrowl allowing only two goals from the Falcons Martin St. Louis and Tomas Kaberle picking up the 4-2 win.


Grrrowl On Three Game Win Streak

In a rematch of last years Copenhagen Cup Championship the Scott City Grrrowl were the victorioues ones this time around defeating the host Brantown Slammers by a score of 4-2.

Scott Walker, Mike Modanno, Danuis Zubrus, and Evgeni Malkin scored for the Grrrowl which marked their third straight win of the season.

Unfortunately do to goals for and goals against going into the week in second place they came out in third place after the expansion Gilmore Gold Jackets had a big win in Adamville against the struggling Falcons.

The Falcons are who the Grrrowl go up against next. With the Grrrowl on a high and the Falcons on what could be an all-time low for this franchise with this bad start, look out for an intense game at the Forum.


Malkin Makes SHL Debut
         SCOTT CITY, TC --  Evgeni Malkin made his debut in the SHL in his Scott City Grrrowl uniform. Malkin scored the Grrrowls first goal in the second period on a deflection past Gregville Assassine netminder Henrik Lundqvist en route to a 3-2 victory for the Grrrowl at The Manson Family Centre. 

         Marian Hossa notched the other two goals for the Grrrowl late in the second frame.  The Assassines came back in the 3rd with a goal from Brendan Shanahan halfway through the period and Markus Naslund scored a mintue later to make it a one goal game. 

         Andrew Raycroft earned the win for the Grrrowl as they improve there record to 2-1 and move to first place in the SHL Eastern Division. They are second plave overall in the league only trailing the undefeated Dionland Twisters.

        Next up for the Grrrowl will be the rematch of last years Copenhagen Cup Championship as they entertain the Brantown Slammers at the Great Eastern Forum.
